nchorman windlass and need some help
There ar 2 winch holes in the top 1 in the center and 1 of to the side on top , What is this one for?
Also down int he middle winch socket there is a hex screw ..is this ti disassemble the top portion?

Everyone might ask for a picture. You may go online to find info or my wild guess on the holes would be a hand ratchet location to lift the anchor if you loose power.

The offset winch hole (socket) is used to raise the anchor by hand. The center hole is to tighten and loosen the clutch to the motor. The socket screw down in the center hole is to adjust the tension on the clutch. This pertains to an Anchorman 1000. If you have something else, well YMMV......

Thank you Rich , just what inneded and one more question does anyone know how to dissasemble the top portion of this winch

Try

Putting the winch handle in the side socket and turning it counter clock wise.
