If you do decide to install a windlass, while our boat is not the same as yours, we made a mistake that based on photos here might have been made by others. According to our windlass specifications, the road should come in at an angle that could have been only achieved were the windlass to be installed on a wedge with the front of the windlass slightly angled up. I didn't think of fabricating a wedge. The result is that when retrieving the anchor and making the transition from line to chain, there does not seem to be enough line on the gypsy to make the transition without stepping on the road in front of the gypsy, essentially correcting the angle.
