Windlass info

What anchor windlass do other Vega owners favour? I have a chain rode
and am thinking a windlass might make anchor retrieval easier.

I Googled "Armstrong Anchor Windlass" but could not find anything.
However, I did find "StrongBack Windlass" and "Huff & Puff Windlass" ;-)

I've used a Simpson Lawrence Anchorman manual windlass for around 20 years
now, I think they still make them. It's great as long as you have the
correct size of chain.

I've still to work out how to get the chain down the hawse pipe though - I
have some ideas but keep putting put it off.

Hi there....

I also use the SL manual windlass. It's a great piece of kit. Try to
get on with both fittings so you can use it with rope or chain. Also
make sure you use a beefy backing plate!Cheers,
