Hi All, can anyone tell me what type of windlass do I need for my Legend 37?

Had one, tried that, the 37 does not have the depth in the anchor locker to get enough chain fall to get a windlass to function properly. Could be done if you wanted to build a bigger anchor locker but that would mean taking out the existing bulkhead and glassing in a new one.

If you mount a vertical windlass (such as the Maxwell VWC 1200) just aft of the chain locker you will have no problems. You will need to flake the chain into the locker but that is easy. This also has the benefit of locating the windlass motor and gear box inside the V berth where it stays dry and clean.
