I may have access to a used Simpson Lawrence Anchorman { I believe } vertical windlass . Does anyone have any thoughts on wether this will Fit on a 1982 Catalina 30 . I am asking as boat is 1000 miles away

About the necessity/wisdom of a windlass on a 30'er. Can't be that big a deal to pull up the anchor on a 30, and you also have to consider adding the wiring, switches, breakers, and very possibly more battery capacity. Please don't take this as some kind of put down. Not at all intended that way. But if you use a Delta, or a CQR or a Manson, none would be over a 22lb. anchor. And the engine works real good for breaking one out. And if you use the engine to break it out, you can drag it 100 yards or so, and clean off all the mud.
