I am reading articles about mast raising and lowering since I bought a used boat and all the instructions aren't there. What is the windex?

Look Up!

At the top of the mast (on many boats) is a wind vane arrow that points into the direction that the wind is coming from. This is called a wind indicator. Most every one refers to it by a trade name called "windex".

Thanks for the responses to my question. This site is probably the number one reason I bought my boat and I have not regetted it for a minute. Have their ever been regional get togethers just to talk and learn first hand? John
