wind weather reports for the coast

I've been sailing enough now to know you have to take weather reports with a grain of salt; and that, sometimes, the best short term weather report is looking up. The weather report for Charleston, sc on Saturday has 6 mph winds. Do you all think that is accurate for the coast? Do you think there would be a little more wind than forcasted for the city? Is there a good weather source for coastal winds verses the average accuweather for cities. I know about channel two on VHF...is there a way to get that from a computer? Thanks for any info. Richard

Weather underground

Richard, Weather Underground includes the local marine forecast for the selected area. This is usually from the same source as the VHF weather channels. For Charleston, see the link below.
