Winches on a 86 Cat 30
I have a 86 Cat 30 Tall Rig. I have Lewmar 40s for the Jenny sheets and two Lewmar 16s mounted on the cabin top either side of the companion way that pull double duties. The port winch is dedicated to both the Jenny and the Spinnaker/spare halyards and the starboard winch doubles as the main halyard and the main sheet control. The 40s are two speed and the 16s are single speed. All are self-tailing which is a feature well worth the added expense. The self-tailing feature combined with the fact that all lines are led aft make single-handing a breeze! Tim
