Bad weather down here lately, so I have been bored. Pulled one of the jibsheet winches off of my C-27 on Sunday after a day of light air sailing. Sounded a little rough on a few pulls. Over hauled the winch today - wow, what a difference. I had no idea how smooth it could be. The winch is a dual speed Barient 21 - now defunct. I have posted my teardown method on the PHOTO FORUM if anyone is interested. I could not find teardown instructions for Barient 21's anywhere on the web - so here's how my little adventure went. Enjoy - Rob

This article was originally just in the Catalina site - I've added it to all other sites, too. Great addition, thanks!

Thanks Phil

I never ventured out of Catalina Owners - didn't realize it was a mirror site. Pretty cool set up - explains why I keep seeing Beneteau and O'Day posts. Thanks for the cross listing! Rob
