I am looking for a winch handle for a 1975 C22, does anyone know where to find one or has anybody a handle for sale?

Winch handles

These things grow on trees at any chandlery. They are based on the type of winch you have not the boat, model and year. Unless you have an unusual winch all the handles are the same. If you have an unusual winch, you'll need to identify it. You can buy them online or at any marine store. Stu

Winch handles

The winch handle for this particular older boat is flat and is set in the winch sideways rather than on the top, making it different than what seems to be the pattern on all the winches being offered on the market, which is why I am looking elsewhere for it. But thank you for you reply.

Find the name of the winch manufacturer

and let us know, and/or do a Google search and I know you'll find one. I know what you're talking about, but the name escapes me for the moment. Stu

It's a Fulton winch

But, this is a very special winch that you don't just get anywhere as it has a brake mechanism that prevents the keel from dropping as you lower the keel. Without this break, you'd break your arm as the winch handle quickly spun. You can probably get a replacement handle from Catalina Direct. However, as I understand, there are at least two styles for this handle. So even though you specify a '74 boat, you may get the wrong handle. Nevertheless, you would probably be best springing for a new winch in that the newer ones have a larger drum diameter that greatly improves the winch action.

Is this the handle?

Michel, look at the handle in this link. If that is the type you need, you could make your own, or buy what this guy is selling. http://www.sailboatowners.com/gear/display.tpl?fno=20&gid=73246969722.59
