WINCH FOR SWING KEEL QUESTION

I just bought my first sailboat it is a Catilina 22 year 1973.I was looking at the keel winch and noticed that there was no latchon the winch to lock keel up. Will the keel stay up on its own?also on keel pivot pin when I check for wear on pin and havekeel down is there a bushing in the keel pivot hole? I could useany tips to make the job go easer. I can't wait to sail it in the spring.thanks Bob

Bob, I had many of the same questions. I bought the Catalina Owner's Handbook from CD Direct at 800-959-7245. Think it was $7+shp. Well worth it for parts and advice. Good luck.
