Has anyone raised or changed the angle of their winches on a Cat 22. My crew(the admiral/wife) has commented on how hard the genoa can be to sheet and secure. She thinks the winch is angled outboard too much. I tend to agree, but was seeking more information. Also, what diameter line is used for the genny and jib form the factory?

winch angle change

Jon Winch angle change is not necessary. Simply remove the existing jib sheet cam cleate that is next to each winch and place a riser( three quarters or seven eights inch) under each cam cleate. This raises the cleate to a perfect angle. The Admiral/wife will love you for it!!!!!!!! PS Check WEST MARINE Best Wishes RAZORBACK

Razorback is right. I bought teak spacers years ago at West Marine. Remember to get longer stainless steel screws. Jib/Genny sheets should be 3/8" diameter. Get line with a "fuzzier" outer layer for better handling.
