With all this talk about repairing, adding bling, refitting, and painting our boats, I began to wonder, will we be ready to sail our boats?

Sail Trim always sounds to me like an art form that is hidden from view. Shared only by a secret society of sailors. Sure you can get on your boat and pull the lines in and out, getting the boat to move away from the dock. How do you make the boat go faster? Are there clues that will help me know when I have the boat going the best for the conditions?

In an attempt to revisit the ideas of sail trim and getting the boat to move, I did a random search of sail trim ideas. I came across these gems that refresh the basics. They are offered in different instructional methods to appeal to a wider audience.

These might spark a forgotten technique or spur more interest about a solution to one of your sailing quandaries.

Tally Ho has been in the water for a week, but finally got the sails bent on today…

Very chilly (40F) and quite breezy today ( no wind instruments on yet - guessing 20 knots).

Shook the jib out, didn’t need to raise the main…2 reefs in the jib and was pushing 6.4 knots.

Oh yeah, I am ready!

Nope.

Head sail on back order.

Motor mounts disappeared in Ohio 10 days ago. Still not sure about how that happens.

Good news. I have friends that have offered me a place to crew until we get underway.

Thx for the video too.
