Was looking at some used head sails for an oday 322 and seen a couple that are pretty close to mines size but a bit longer lengths , like 6" or a foot longer leech and foot would they still work ? I Was thinking the most important size would be the luff that connects to the furler ? ?

You have to measure your rig to figure out what dimensions work attach tape measure to haylard and use a messenger rope as well hoist and measure
I measured that part and found some sails with same measurement but with longer leech and foot measurememts so was thinking they would work as i see that some headsails can be swaped for bigger ?
Yea that's called an overlapping sail works fine as long as luff will fit within hoist measurements.
But the longer leach may be too long for sheet blocks on traveler tracks and you will have to extend them back for sail shape

Thanks i just got back from the sail shop and they can repair mine for around $500 so i am going to have it done, but good to know others will fit for the future if needed
