I have found a tandam trailer With 4000 pound gross capacity and 6 adjustable pads. Will this possibly work to transport my Oday 25sk north to NY from NC? Any other options or Ideas?

Sounds a little light

Pat, My 25 O'Day is 4000#with nothing on board. The gross weight is normally the boat and the trailer weight together. If it says GVW (gross vehicle weight) 4000#, it is too light. If it is gross load, 4000# is right on the edge. I think you should look for a trailer with 6000# GVW minimum for and O'Day 25. Get another opinion on this. r.w.landau

I Agree

I recently had to buy a trailer for an O'Day 25. The 25, based on trailer manufacturer's data, is roughly 4,600 - 4,800 lbs. Therefore, you would need minimially a 5,000 lb. capacity trailer (which mine happens to be). The trailer I got seems well suited to the task, I brought the boat from Tampa, Fl to Washington, DC uneventfully (Thank Goodness). Good Luck.

Weight of the 25 O'Day

Ed, the manufactures brochure says 4800#. There is a side note to that. That includes 5 people at 160# each. r.w.landau

Thanks, I understand

Thank you for the clarification. I was refering to a phone call I made to an actual trailer manufacturer, when they looked up the 25, those were the figures they had, no further explanation provided.
