Does anyone know if a 16 inch folding prop would fit a catalina 30 ?

It won't fit
A 16 inch diameter propeller is definitely too big to fit a Catalina 30. Standard fixed props for the C30 are 12 or 13 inch diameter. Some of the newer folding props (Flexofold, Martec) fit further back on the shaft, allowing one to fit a 14 inch diameter prop. A 16 inch prop is large enough to actually scrape the hull on a C30.

Finally just launch the boat!!! yes, we are way up north and our season is just starting
Installed new prop, fixed 3 blades, our sailing is mostly done on the Saint-Lawrence River, strong tides and currents, narrow water way! the fixed two blade prop was fine for the Great Lakes but not as much for here.
As recommended by Catalina, we got a 13" dia., for the universal engine a pitch of 11, 12, 13 ,14 is acceptable according to experts. We got the 13 x 13 and wow the difference it make going again current, you don't get much more speed but certainly get much more push at lower RPM. Really please with it.
While making this change over, we took the opportunity to replace the cutlass bearing (only 5 years old) and re-aligned the engine and shaft....the boat has never been this smooth and quiet under power! lovin' it
