Sorry, but what are you asking for? the Bad boy uses the ubiquity bullet-they are an American company that fabs their electronics overseas-anything actually manufactured here would be much more expensive.l

I don't know of ANY American made wifi... anything. And if it exists, it wouldn't be inexpensive. :D

I've tried a $20 unit from ebay and I've also used the better units from ubiquiti ($100+). What do you need, exactly? Just better marina reception, or wanting to reach out a mile or more?

Not sure about American made, but Engenius makes good products at reasonable prices.

Not to be 'that guy', but looking at the Bad Boy, how can an omnidirectional antenna be 'high-gain'? Isn't an omni unity gain by definition?

The antenna pushes the radiation that would otherwise radiate upwards down into the horizonatal plane, resulting in a gain.

I put a system based on the Bullet which most of the good ones use....

...that has worked out past 4 miles but nothing will be fast at that distance. I've had good speed up to a little over a mile. Where we are now we can stream Netflix at about 1/8 mile with no problems.

I used the Bullet 2 HP that covers the popular b/g frequencies, but most are now going with the Bullet M2HP model as it works with b/g/n frequencies and some places are now using the n frequency. We will probably switch later.

I saved some by putting the system together but for someone that doesn't fell comfortable with that I'd buy from....

http://islandtimepc.com/

... Island Time PC (I have no affiliation with them). They are cruisers and support the product well and help lots of people that haven't even bought from them. They have been doing this for a long time, just don't advertise as strong as some of the others.

If someone is considering the USB approach with something like an Alpha you might want to read this....

http://purplesagetradingpost.com/sumner/macgregor-navigation/WiFi-1.html

.... as we use both. We use the Alpha on the road in motels and at home so it can work, but it doesn't reach near as far as the Bullet. I know the the title is about antennas, but with all of these products the antenna is just a means of grabbing the signal for the radio that you are buying. In the case of the....

....Bullet the radio is right at the base of the antenna. They do need to work together but you really need to be paying attention to the radio part as it is replacing the radio that is in your computer.

We have had our system on the boat for the past 2 1/2 years with no problem and I'm posting with it right now,
