Without too much fuss, either!
I asked her to unscrew the wind instrument at its base and send it down to me for a rehab. A brief problem on re-installation (bent pins), sent it back down for straightening of said pins, then a more careful hook-up.

A bit of calibration, and we're back in business.

Bravo! Not even on her best day would my wife go up a mast. It was a struggle getting on a ski lift! She can't even watch me at heights.

Way to go. My friend with a Catalina 36 in the Marina two slips away, found a young guy willing to go up the mast and replace an anchor light. All went well but nearing the end of the evolution the drill slipped out of his hand. Down it came. SMASH... to pieces on the deck... It is strange how quickly the focus turns from "Are you still ok up there.. to MY DRILL IT IS GONE... MY DECK IT's DENTED..."
Happy for you that your experience was a good one.
