Why paint bottom?

This almost sounds like an alternative to sanding. Say, where could I find some these so-called "barnacles?"

Oh JD. One might suggest a move to bigger waters on one of the coasts if you really seek this sanding alternative.

nasty tenacious buggers. Little chemists that make their own glue to attach themselves to your hull.

But then you might miss that joy of Spring and Summer, the Minnesota State bird. I’ve heard it called “little welts-on-wings”.
