I agree with PJ

I can't focus on important questions like "what's the best boat in the world" while Boat Babe postings are constantly popping up. I am also offended that I am forced to open such postings through clever tricks like plainly marking the thread "Boat Babe On Strike" thereby removing any chance I have at ignoring the postings through free will. Memo to self: Pack sufficient bottled water if I ever visit Kingston NY.

...I appreciate your attitude. The nice thing about the forum is you can select the threads you have an interest in, and pass of the rest. There is a lot to be said for freedom of speech.

Jim's Idea Definitely Works

There was some talk of putting in a pool at our club. There seemed to be as many people for as against most of us did not care that much but did not want it where they were planning on putting it. One day at lunch a number of us who are mid-orbitaly gifted decided to threatened to hang out at the pool every day in our Speedos. That seemed to have killed it right away.

I cannot believe all the attention that this thread is recieving... Apparently, most people don't recall the forum threads on Brian and Steph's (Boat Babe) SAILBOAT trip to the Bahama's. I thought it was an excellent photo essay. Yes, there are a few pics of Steph (which I thoroughly enjoyed), but also many pics of the area, and the BOAT...in other words, plenty of BOAT stuff. I'm with Phil, if you don't like the thread DON'T CLICK ON IT. I see absolutely nothing offensive, and it definitely helps me up here in the frozen (soon to be frigid) northern latitudes. So, CHILL OUT!

PJ, It sounds like you have some issues with women in bikinis. These women aren't naked, and most are posting their pictures themselves. Phil doesn't have any problems with it and like he said, "it's not breaking any of the rules of the board" so lighten up. If you don't want to look at the pics, don't open the thread. Lats & Atts had this same issue on their BB a while back. They basicly said if you don't like it don't look at it. At that point, A bunch of them started their own BB. Maybe you should start your own BB. There's probably lots of folks that don't want to see women in bikinis that would join your board. I don't mind the pics, it's all in good fun. Dave

Changed his initials as SOMEONE told him to do (I hope somebody is happy at this) and then...here is another of his GOTCHA'S Leave us alone in our fantasy world of 60' yachts, sailing around the world, retiring, and babes in bikini's. Sheesh, is nothing sacred? Next your going to tell me Irwin's are cheaply constructed, my Perkins isn't worth a hoot, and God forbid, I named my boat wrong.

Answer some questions for us: What did anyone ruin for you specifically? (is your self esteem so low that you can't stomach seeing pictures of other pretty woman on Boats) Please specifically point out which picture you are calling suggestive? (and then please tell us what part of Iran, Saudi Arabia or Afghanistan you are from) Why shouldn't it be allowed, just as long as there is SAILING on it? Now I do agree some of these guys are replying like dorky 13 year old boys, but I don't really see any of then actually "belittling women". In fact it looks more like those drooling dorky I say if its a REAL picture of a person/mate on your Sailboat than its fair game and accepted. Also I think we shouldn't allow "stock photo's" of people we don't know and found on the internet even if its on a Sailboat(I do STRONGLY question Sinbad's picture of that "girl on the beach" - we need to see that same exact girl on HIS sailboat to really know. ) "I ask the people in charge to not allow the postings of these pics" OH Puh-lease PJ you ever been to the South Seas? You would see a LOT less on the woman on the beachs and boats down there.

Wonder why PJ don't respond

She/he was so adamant in Her/his stance I would have thought she/he'd defend Her/his position and back it up some how. I guess it was a kind of lame position in the first place. (though I do agree -> some of you middle-aged guys are a little creepy. Have a little dignity. Go ahead and enjoy the pictures of the pretty woman but don't drool on yer keyboard)

New Rating System for posted photos...

We here at the "Boat Babe" Photograph Posting Department (BBPPD) wish to fully address said concerns of one "PJ" by instituting a new policy designed to protect those who may be offended by viewing beautiful women on sailboats. To assist "PJ" (and any others with similar difficulties) in determining which posts are suitable for his viewing, we (BBPPD) will be instituting a new viewing policy. All future posts will have a "standards rating" and will feature a "tag" that will be interpreted as follows: PJA = "PJ Approved" PJD = "PJ Disapproved" PJX = "PJ Avoid At All Costs..." We are submitting a repugnant picture of Brian for the benefit of "PJ" to facilitate better understanding of how this rating system will function. This photo falls into the "PJA" rating category. Additionally, in the interest of fair time and equal rights, we will also be posting a picture of the "Boat Babe" over on her respective thread. I would suggest that "PJ" remain here and not visit her post as it will be rated "PJX". Thank you all for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Brian
