Why do some of you guys have to ruin everything? And why does this list serve allow suggestive pics of women? It should not be allowed, there are plenty of other sites for that. This should be about SAILING. Too bad the "pigs" are allowed to use this forum to do their "macho he man belittling women" thing. I ask the people in charge to not allow the postings of these pics and kick off the ones that do and/or try. PJ

suggest to you. Many if not most of those pictures are posted or approved of by the women in the pictures. Since women are as much a part of sailing as are the men I guess it would only be fair to insist that the hairy, fat bellied, men be given equal attention. YUK!

In one thread I have seen, there are women that are posting the pictures of themselves...... Maybe Jim is right, us men should post pictures of us on the boat sailing with our sailing attire. Seems to me that women just look a bit better in their garb. Greg

Where are you seeing "suggestive" pics?? I have an Irish grandmother who has always said "..to the pure of mind all things are pure". I would hardly call the pictures of our sailing mates suggestive or the those that post them "macho he man belittling women". Quite the contrary, these are our friends, spouses, and family members. Sure some of these ladies are good looking and most folks can appreciate that, but that is a far cry from the bad minded and derogatory view that you are suggesting. Take a tip from granny and try seeing these pictures from the eyes that took them.

The thread is marginal, certainly. Randy said it well when he described it as "weird." Personally, I find the drool factor kind of creepy. That said, we think it's pretty innocuous, really. The women are posting their own pix (for the most part), everyone is clothed, and there isn't anything going on that violates forum guidelines. In addition, there are clearly a large number of people following the thread. I think in this case the best advice is to skip the thread if it bothers you.

Today the sun is shining the wind is 12 to 15 knot
and the temperature is about 20 degrees F. Perfect sailing weather but for one thing. After the mean silliness of yesterday a little light hearted silliness today is a good thing. I am not sure if this thread was started in sincerity or not but it is kinda funny. I would buy the next round if that would keep it going as fun.

as in, where did your observation-di gestations come from? I've never read anything on this web site (several years) that was offensive to women. Nor have we had a post-er that is weird. That said; I'd just love to post naked pictures of my WIFE! Ouch! Sorry honey,,,

Suggestive Iguana
MKING,Brian D M, I almost peed myself with laughter when I saw the shot of the iguana attempting to stow away on your boat. Sure would not want to wake up in the morning with that thing staring at me from down near my feet. Or higher up. Brian, your fishing shot did not elicit the same response but I enjoyed your message. Almost without exception, I have found the contributors to this site to be honourable gentlemen as most sailors are. I kind of enjoyed the pictures Steph posted of herself. They were tasteful and graceful. They are the only ones I can recall of women on this site. Pity, she seems to have moved to Ethiopia or somewhere. Peter

PJ, when I open this page I see a little over 100 threads. One is about avatars, one is somebody whining about net etiquette, and one is a silly little thread with some scantily-clad pics. Generally posted by the subjects of the photos, or respectfully posted by their SOs. The other 100 threads are ALL boat/sailing related. Really, you can't skip over the 1 boat babe thread? Did you look at all 8 pages of the thread, or did you stop after the first page offended you? Yeah, that thread does have a couple "creepy old man" moments in it, but strikes me as generally harmless given what exists on some other web sites.
