... of Nissans and pawls, thought I'd pass along a tip that might help other OB newbies. If it's not catching consistently when you pull the starter rope, yank the starter assembly off (easy job -- three bolts and the rod that blocks starting attempts while in gear), and crank on that big bolt right in the middle for all you're worth.I tried tightening it a couple of times, but it seemed tight and so I just exercised the whole mechanism a little and it would work OK for a few months. Finally overcame my phobia of overtightening things and got that bolt to go maybe another 16th of an inch, and now that pawl pops out perfectly every time.And thanks for the info, William.Mac
