Who is going to the Newport boat show?

Bob. If you really want to empty your wallet, and more, then be sure to go see the Nordhaven 72 at Trawlerfest on Goat Island. It is privately-owned and currently at my marina (registered in Road Town) and prepping to go to the show. It has two of everything (two windlasses, two polished s/s plow anchors (330# each) w/built-in washdown nozzles aiming at the drawn anchors?)

I am planning on going. Last year, I went with a shopping list and found some good deals: new jib sheets and a couple of sport-a-seats. I went through almost all of my cash. I wound up with only enough left to buy just one of those swiveling drink cup holders; the guy was starting to pack up for the day and was really discounting his prices to lighten his load. I was about $3 short of enough for his "two-fer" special price. No checks, no credit cards! Oh well. Before I bought my boat, I would look at the smaller boats at the show and "realistically dream." Since I bought my boat, I go on the really big, expensive boats and unrealistically wish.... Best boat ever at the show: the "W" class sloop. Close seconds: all of the new luxury daysailers.
