A question...anyone got a standard length/diameter for a fixed-length whisker pole for a 30-foot boat that flies a 130% genny and a cruising spinnaker? I'm sick of constantly dealing with corrosion of the aluminum, telescoping variety. And, save some time; among other things, I'm a aviation mechanic and I know 1,001 ways to prevent corrosion and none of them are designed to deal with aluminum in salt-air, salt-warter environments. When I was learning to sail lo those many years ago at the hometown yacht club, we used fixed-length whisker poles and I'm thinking the same thing could be done with a 30-footer today. Any ideas, y'all?
