I have owned my H33 for almost a year now. I have a 150% genoa. Would I see much downwind performance increase with a whisker pole? Is there any used ones out there?

You will see lots of increase in speed

It will make your boat so much easy to handle on downwind runs. It is not hard to set it up with a genoa and you will be happy you puchased one if you do as much downwind sailing as I do. I sold mine for my larger 33 ft boat on ebay recently. Great place to look for one. Only problem is UPS won't handle anything larger that 10 feet I believe it is. Mine was puchased by another North Carolina sailer who picked it up.

I do sometimes...

It does make tracking easier downwind. It will take a pretty long pole to work with a 150, But I have been very pleased with downwind "wind on wing" sailing when using a pole. It keeps the genoa from collapsing when the winds shifts slightling or when the main might partly block the jib or genoa. I have set mine using the autopilot to steer while I go forward, however, it would be easier with another crew member at the helm or better still, up on the deck doing the work. Is your 33 a newer one or one of the Cherubini designs?
