Does anyone know if it is legit to have the whisker pole and the boom on the same side in a race? An old salt in the area said it was a protest but never show us the racing rule.
The 'Old Salt' actually was correct until the last rules change. While I don't have a copy of the current rules at home, I remember hearing from a competitor that you can now carry the spinaker pole on either side. Of course, if it come up in a race, you'd want to have a copy of the rule at hand.
