best?
Am going to do some simple wiring in my O'Day 27. I have butt connectors and wire nuts and onestep splicing connectors. I am not certain which is best for what purpose. Please advise.
Thank You in advance.
Randy asked which is best for wire splicing?
You left out twist and solder. Only that is not always an option.
Wire nuts are for fixed or non moving connections like in houses. Where there is motion wire nuts can loosen.
Butt connectors are commonly used, but make double sure that crimp is very tight then tape.
One step splicing connectors seem to last if sealed with tape or plastic tape to prevent corrosion.
So in my opinion, where possible, a good twist and solder connect would be best. Then coated with the liquid tape and taped with real tape.
