is that more or less prone to chaffing on the winch?..and is it more desirable than 7 x19? I also have seen diff types (ex.304) of SS cable which is of those are less prone to chaff and still flexible?
anyone?....does it matter which type of ss? Always surprises me when someone posts a question and doesn't get answered. I guess some people's lives don't revolve around sailing... As we say down here, "Bless their hearts". (snickers)
easy way to size the replacement wire: look at what s on there now, get same wire type, diameter and length. Hard way: get weight of keel you ll be lifting, calculate load to be lifted w appropriate calculation to account for angles of lift, calculate safe working load, multiply by desired safety factor.....
Probably a trailer winch cable being a 21 footer. I would tell him to go to tractor supply or northern tool. I hate it when posters do not respond back. Well guys, I have moonshine to start the New Year in correctly.
