heading down to Houston,texas for a wedding of a friend. haven't been there in a long while and was wondering where would be a good place to possibly be able to do some sailing. I will have time on my hands while the maid of honor does her thing. any advice would be helpful....thanks

I haven't rented a sailboat in quite some time but IIRC look around Clear Lake. Webster, Kemah, Clear Lake Shores, League City, and Seabrook are cities bordering the lake. Kemah should have some larger boats to rent while the west end of the lake (Webster) usually has smaller boats. Wish I could help more....
I went into the Charlottetown yacht club in PEI and offered to crew on race night when I was there a few weeks ago.
I'm a member of the Fanshawe yacht club in Ontario.
They were great! I called ahead and confirmed I'd be there and sure enough someone was waiting for us. My wife and I got to help on a J30.
