Ok I know it's been discussed before, and I've already read a bunch of threads, but I still haven't come to a conclusion for my boat. Looking at the Raymarine ST1000 and ST2000. Seems they are basically the same interface and functions but the 2000 is a bit more robust? I have a lowrance HDS5 that I use for navigation, and it sounds like there's some way to make these things talk to each other, but really all I care about is having something to man the helm and keep me going straight while I tend to the sails.
I'm wondering if it's really worth the extra $100 for the 2000 for a boat as light as my Mac25?
I'm also open to other options, but I've used the Raymarine wheel units on a few bigger boats and like the way they work. These look to be basically the same interface.
