Which sail stop to use for O'Day 25?

It should look like your mainsail slugs. My Mac used the first one.
I eventually closed my slot and installed a mastgate

My Hunter has a gate/cover that screws on. Not automatic like the MastGate. The Gate would be handier on a trailersailer I think

The first one will fit . The stop needs to be positioned above the feed slot . A small piece of alumimum can be easily used to make a mast gate .

Thanks Timm. I'll make a mast gate at some point. Right now I just want something to keep the sail from falling out of the mast

But 2. It's inevitable that the first one will loosen and fall into the water! :cuss:
Another good reason for a gate.

My efforts need to be focused on getting this boat into the water and $50 for a mast gate is a bit much for something I can make for $5. In the meantime the sailstop is a good, cheap alternative. If I have time I'll throw some blue locktite on the threads and a ring terminal with line crimped on to keep it from going overboard

I went to install the stop over the weekend. A previous owner had already installed a mast gate. Also found the round style of stop does not fit the O'Day's mast. I'm guessing the larger square stop would be the right one but dont quote me. Just thought I'd follow up with some accurate info
