Which paint to use??

I am too cheap to buy our family a new RIB inflatable..I patch the holes, I've changed the lines, put on a different outboard, replaced the seat bench etc.

I want to paint the wooden floor slats a flat grey. What paint will adhere best to the wood and stand up to the dampness and water? Is there something that won't chip off and end up in the Lake?

Any help appreciated.

The valspar stuff at lowes works fine for me as it does not fall of the outside of the house and seems to hang in on the boat also

I have no problem paying for Alwgrip if the job needs it BUT its not good for everything

What about using a porch floor paint? As long as you are trying to go the economical route you could give that a shot. There are also some epoxy versions out there without the dreaded "Marine" designation. whatever is used, its important that the wood is thoroughly dry.

Try the porch floor paint, it is very durable. Add some course sand on top between coats if you want to increase traction.

You can buy special traction grit at Home depot. It's a couple bucks but it is much finer than any other sand you can get so it won't ruin over coats. We used it on a climbing wall and it is worth the price vs. regular sand.
