I have a 81 h27 with a 1GM10 Yanmar engine. My primary fuel filter is an old brass Perko unit with replacable element. I haven't been able to replace the element since I bought the boat because the access plug is frozen solid. I would like to replace it with a Racor (spin on filter). I've looked in the usual catalogs and all over the net. At this point I am leaning toward the Racor 120A or 230 models. Has anyone done this retrofit or does anyone have comments on which would be the best model for my application? Thanks

GPH?

Rick, the Racors are rated in gallons per hour (gph), so I guess that what you may need to do is match the ratings to your engine's usage. I have a Racor Model 110 (cartrige) on my 3HM35F that's rated at 50 gph that i would like to upgrade to a spin-off. See if Racor has a web site.

120AS is more than adequate for a small diesel

120RMAM if you are more comfortable with a metal metal bowl rather than than a see-through plastic one. (or a Fram FCS1136M... still all metal, but a bit cheaper). The 215R2 if you dont mind the plastic see-through bowl, and want the conveneince of a primer pump.
