which knot do I use?

I have to re-attach a new main halyard clasp to the halyard since the original broke. Since this is a very important thing to have a strong knot for, which one should I use to tie it on?Thanks,Mike

Which Knot

I suggest you use a Buntline Hitch. It is stronger than a Bowline though it is almost impossible to untie under any kind of load. If you do an internet search you should find dozens of sites that explain how to tie one.
