I have a 1980 Hunter 33. The finish is in decent shape for an old boat - some shine on topsides (I keep it clean and wax occasionally) more weathered on the deck and nonskid portions. The boat stays in the water year around in the New Orleans climate 30north, 90 west. - two questions. 1. which kit do I need to buy for this size boat - as it seems I may need more of some products for the initial usage, if so, what do I need extra? 2. Is it feasible to do the topside application in the water? Our local boatyard is a great place to get things on the boat finish that won't come off, so I would rather do the boat where it floats if possible.

To start with, get Minikit A Plus extra S.GLow

I am assuming that this is a white boat. It's a bit longer that the "up to 30ft" that the minikit will usually do, but a boat as old as 1980 will undoubtedly have som porosity of the gelcoat (my gelcoat is porous in areas and its ownly a 1990). When it's that porous, the sea glow tends to soak in a lot (as it is supposed to so clean out and condition all the microscopic pores). The silkenseal then provides a sealing coat and foundation for the SUperwax coating. If you see anay dulliing patches where the superwax is applied then you are seeing some soaking - just reseal and reapply swax to that area. Later, you can get into non=-skid, topsides sealing metal etc by purchasin extras. If you buy all at once, the Super de Luxe incorporates non-skdi) or VIP (has everying) is best for savings, but I have 20% off that extra s.glow up to tomorrow! Whatever you want to do. But please order through this site- we all need to help support Sailboatowners.com! Thanks ALW

You will also need...

One 12 pack case of white paper towels, 2-12 packs of beer (note the ratio- 2 beers per roll of towels) Yes, you can do it in the water, take your time, keep at it, hire some cheap help if you can. It really works, but it takes time to do a whole boat.
