Last winter at Lay-up I decided to remove my centerboard and rudder on my O'Day 222 to repair over the winter.. Now my bottom paint is peeling... Reason is, After my fiberglass repairs I decided to lay a coat of epoxy resin on the centerboard and rudder blade after sanding the bottom paint down to bare gel coat. My thinking was/is to help give them a more waterproof coating.. Forgot to etch the resin coating. Now the bottom paint is coming of the rudder blade in big chunks and I suspect the centerboard too. Got a project for next winter. Hee He.
