trying to find out why tank is not venting properly - and in the course of things - don;t know which hose is which here. Labels gone. The boat has a diesel generator and an auxiliary diesel tank that can pump fuel into the main tank. I can see labels for the genset - feed and return but without tracing does anyone know what the other ones are ? I was thinking the one with a valve is probably the main engine feed and that is a shutoff valve ? Anyone have an idea which is which ? If one is the vent I was going to disconnect it and blow air through and out the mushroom valve. Thanks all

Engine supply and return, Gen supply and return.... and tank vent.. A swag would be that the topmost is the vent, but without any more info, it really is a guess.
Prolly should have a shutoff on the gen supply line too.

Is that an original tank for a Hunter 41? I would think the vent would be closer to the fill location and would be bigger than what we are seeing in your picture. You say you have an "aux diesel tank" that can pump fuel to the main tank. It seem that all the feeds, returns, and transfer lines are shown on your picture (5 total) and the vent is somewhere else. It should come out of the top of the tank with no valve. Try to find access to the whole tank top and particularly look closer to where the fill hose enters the tank.

You need to get the mattress out of that cabin and remove all of the covers so you can see the plumbing to the other 19 gallon tank. In 2004, if you ordered a gen set you got a 19 gal aluminium tank under the foot of the bed that uses a transfer pump to get the fuel to the main tank, located in the small cut out, in your picture. I believe that the top line is coming from the transfer pump. I am not at our boat else I would post a picture. The vent for our main tank is at the very stern near the filler port.

Tank would have to have a vent to be able to accept fuel from the transfer pump... as stated maybe larger and close to the fill line .
