Which gps for O'Day 272?

We attended the Newport Boat Show and I spoke with the Garmin rep about replace my small
Garmin 3-Plus. He Recommended a Garmin echoMAP 50s Series. Reading the reviews it seems that many of the owners complain that the maps included do not provide adequate info
for many lakes.....I know I can update the instrument to provide better mapping for inland lakes.
I can call Garmin to find out which map provides the best information for our lake in Kansas.
My simple question is does anyone out there in Sailboat owner land have experience with this
model of GPS/Sonar.....I'm not so interested in sonar but am very interested in a quality map
of our reservoir in Kansas. Cheney Reservoir. Thanks for your thoughts. Patrick

I just like independent instruments; if the GPS goes kaput I would like to continue to get depth readings or vice versa.

Contact the us Corp of engineers they should have a very good map of your lake
