We want to get a dingy for our 1997 H26. We take a couple of trips a year to other lakes in Wi or MN, so it has to stow on top of the boat or in a F50 bed on the road. There's just me and the 1st mate. We were thinking of boing with a 8' Walker Bay. Any suggestions or comments, pro or con? Thanks

LEISURE LIFE WATERTENDER 9.4

You should look at the Leisure Life Watertender 9.4 It is cheaper than the Walker Bay and probably more stable. I am seriously thinking about one since my inflatable has another leak. They are $450 at WM. Their website is llboats.com. They will handle up to a 5hp outboard.

Second Ron's Suggestion

..I have had two and find their tri-hull design to be stable. I can step on the bow and it will support me. It tows easily and with little drag. It is half to a third the comparable inflatable cost. It will last longer. You can beach it without care. It is light at about 90 pounds. Downside is storage, transportation and some less capasity. Good luck. Rick D.

Have you heard of Pota-Bote?

I have the 10'4' model which can hold three adults and a 5hp motor. It folds down to 10'4" x 2' x 4" and can be stowed neatly between two lifeline stanchions. They make a smaller boat that seats two and a larger one that seats four. ~ Happy sails to you ~ _/) ~

Boatex Ltd

Hi, I went through this process over the past few years and decided to buy a Boatex 10 for my Hunter 34. I love the boat. It rows, tows, motors and sails extremely well. If the photo attachment works, you'll be able to see mine rigged for sailing. There is a small jib which we don't have rigged, but you can see it with the main set. Gary

WB8 vs. WT9.4

We had the same decision to make. We narrowed our search down to the Water Tender 9.4 and the Walker Bay 8. I wanted the 9.4 because of the room for storage, stability and 5hp capacity. My wife wanted the Walker Bay because it was cuter and fit better on the deck of our H34..... Our new Walker Bay 8 IS a cute little thing. It even handles my 5hp Tohatsu OK, as long as I don't try to sit on the aft seat when I'm by myself. We paid 367.00 plus tax for it at Boat America.
