I've been using the less expensive paint referred to as "soft" by the retailer. It has been suggested that I use West Marine CCP paint after I lightly sand and apply a bond Primer. I'm concerned about how of the old paint I can leave on before applying the primer and if I ever have to take the "hard" paint off will it be very difficult. I've purchased the more expensive paint already but I could return it. Some 'Old Salts' working on their boats told me if I'm not racing use the "soft" paint. The dilemma came up about slime build-up last year when I could not get out much to sail.
