This Web Site

The boats for sale here seem to move pretty fast if they are priced right.

Here is Best!

I sold my 1993 H 23.5 on this web site in April 2001 in 10 days! I didn't advertise anywhere else. The key is a clean, well maintained boat, priced right. I also gave my buyers a pretty extensive orientation to the boat

Where else to advertise

This is a great web site to sell a sailboat if the boat is long enough that prospective buyers will see it. But 23 is a tad small to build a big community of interest. An alternative is classified section of the biggest daily or weekly newspaper in your local community, provided it has a critical mass of boat ads. Given a choice between a paper near water and a paper near you, choose the former because it will have the greater community of interest. Disclaimer: I'm a newspaper publisher who has had great success selling through the classifieds.

Newspaper classifieds

3 years ago I sold a 26 foot sailboat and advertized on-line, in a local boating magazine (Offshore) the local Nashua, NH paper (new hampshire telegraph) and eventually in the Boston Globe. The Boston Globe received much more and faster response and resulted in the eventual sale of the boat. I have to agree with the earlier post that a large newspaper in a metropolitan area near the coast is best. If you get their attention, people will drive an hour or so to look at your boat. Good luck, Tom
