Where to sail near L.A.

Hi everyone.

As part of a scholarship I´ll be taking a course at California State University in northridge from June 29 to July 24.
I'm a 22 y/o mexican who usually sails a PHRF catalina 22 in Mexico, and i'd like to be a crew while in USA.
Does anyone know if there are any races near LA or some clubs where i could find someone to sail with?

You will have no problem. I suggest Dana Point YC, Dana Point, Cal YC, Marina del Rey, Long Beach YC and Shoreline YC in Long Beach. They are all large clubs with big fleets. Call them or email them. You can find contact information through the SCYA website or Google searches. There are many more clubs, but these have large sailing youth programs. Marina del Rey is closest to Cal State Northridge, but Long Beach isn't too far either. Have fun!

Check Cabrillo Yacht club in San Pedro for their wed/thurs beer cans.... should be able to hook up..
