Just bought a 200DX...
...and tried to use silicone to mount the transducer to the inside of the hull, in the compartment under the V-berth. The wire will snake back along the port side of the hull with no problem, and it's the exact length needed to get to my swing-out companionway display. The silicone didn't work too well, though- It kept getting bubbles in it, and that will render the transducer inoperative. I've been temporarily putting a little water in the bottom of the compartment, and putting the 'ducer in a water-filled zip-loc baggie. Shoots through the hull just fine until you get over about 7 knots, or more than 18 degrees of heel. I plan to try epoxy next...--Jon BastienH25 'Adagio'
