What salvage yard etc. is best for trying to find a used mast ? For a 26 ' 1987 Ericson ?

Thanks,
Ingemar

Walk the local boatyards. Rigrite in MA may have what you need but the shipping would kill you. I also heard a rumor that they may be near the end.

Give Ebay a look

It is fairly common to see masts on ebay. All sizes. Might be pretty hard to find an exact match though. I agree that sleeving it is worth looking at, and can be just about as strong as the origional.

When I needed a boom for my last Ericson I found a Catalina part that was very close in dimensions. I had a new one delivered to my marina with a shipment going to the local dealer. Even if you can't get one this way, I would still recommend looking for a match in a Catalina or Hunter, or anything else that would be a close match. Ericson didn't make their own masts. There were only a few spar manufacturers even back when Ericson was making new boats. Many boats use the same extrusion but at different lengths and with different fittings.

Ericson Mast-Thanks for Feedback !

Good day,

Since new here, not sure how this will be broadcasted, but will soon find out.
RE: mast, I have not decided to let insurance co., buy the boat for $17K, or try to fix it, with sleeving as some suggested.

I like this boat, but...................
Thanks again,
