I wouldn't do this
I recently bought a 2004 Hunter 466 and noticed that many of the 466 boats I looked at had a unit attched to the underside of the arch that had speakers and a light. My boat does not have this and I wondered if anyone knew where I could buy one?
Thx
Roger
Here's the thing..
The Fiberglas pods which were installed under the arches were made by Hunter.
You can fit in a pair of really tiny speakers, which sound exactly like really tiny speakers. Now, if you're not really into having great tunes in the cockpit, this is ok....
But, if you want to really enjoy your music, here's what you do:
Get a moderate marine 2 channel amp. There is a company called Pyke, which has great units at under $100.
Then what you do is get a set of outdoor box speakers. There are a few companies who make great ones, such as Bose, and many others.
When you shop around, you will find something you like.
Mount the box speakers under the stern rail seats, hanging down from underneath the seat.
You can either run the wiring up the stern rail with some zip ties, or fish it inside the tubing.
In any case, the sound is amazing, and much better than the cheapo ones that were mounted in the arch boxes
