Where to get a mast gate?

I went to lubricate the mast track today and took off the old mast gate. When I went to put it back on the screws would not hold. I'm going to try to find replacement screws that will work, but these look like they might have been trimmed down. (I hate it when these simple things go wrong....it's just so frustrating!) Is there a source for a standard mast gate for this boat? It's a 1985. Thanks in advance for any advice. Patrick

mast gate?????

You HAVE a mast gate? I own a C27 1983-#5110 and I am dying for a mast gate. I tried making one but to no avail. Catalina sent me one but there is no way I can see how to use it. Please respond.

Mast Gates

These covers are generally handmade out of aluminum or stainless steel and made to fit the slot. I made a set this year from some stock angled aluminum from Home Depot for about 4 or 5 bucks. They do makes things a lot easier if all your lines are led aft and you have lazyjacks. Check out the related link below for more information and instructions on how to make them.

I made some simple ones also

Even easier to make than the ones below. There was no bending all, I had to do was cut out pieces of aluminum from door thresholds I got at Home Depot. Check the link below for a photo link of what I did.

Call David

My mast gate was missing when I bought my used '74 C27, so I called David Gloss of Catalina Corp. on 818-884-7700. He sent one with associated screws to me along with wiring diagrams and a copy of the original invoice of my boat all for $0, compliments of Catalina. Just one of the reasons that I'm a happy Catalina owner.
