Where to fly burgee

I'm not the best at flag rules. But the over riding principal is the Ensign should be flown from the "Highest place of respect." At one time that was the mainmast on for instance a schooner. But then it became off the gaff boom of the Mizzen or Mainmast. In any event tradition eventually specified the rear taft rail. I'm not sure I can defend that history but Ensigns are now flown off the transom. So on the Vision which has an unstayed mast I don't see any reason the Ensign couldn't be flown off the transom while not racing.
As far as Chicago voters, I like to say they are loyal Democratic voters. So loyal they continue to vote for Democrats after they're dead!

On a sailboat, the burgee should be flown from starboard spreader flag halyard. Should you be visiting a foreign country, the courtesy flag should be flown above the yacht club burgee. If you have an unstayed mast I would think following chapman's etiquette for power boats would be the way to go. Burgee on the bow.
