Just got 26d, which has fraying seat covers. Where can one buy either same model seat covers, or any new color seat covers?? I hope I don't have to sew the covers myself. I looked online but couldn't find these items myself. TOMMY

Sorry to see no one has responded yet. I think that if you don't want to do them yourself, you may have to get a shop to do them. I have seen a few posts here from members that have gone both ways with good results.

I'd like to get my cockpit cushions redone. The are in good shape, just need new foam but I would like to get the seat parts split into separate cushions so I can remove one while people are stepping onto the boat. I cringe when they get stepped on - usually I slide the cushion back until everyone is onboard but it is a tad awkward.

Great prices, quick shipping, good to work with on the phone and free shipping. We are going to use them to replace the foam in the cockpit cussions and the seat cushions in the cabin. I talked to them yesterday and they will custom cut the foam for you for only about $10-$15 per cushion if you want. Just make a template and send it to them. You can cut them yourselves if you want. I don't seem to be able to cut the rounded corners though as well as they to so we will send templates.

fwiw, I bought some blue closed cell sleeping bag pads (.5" thick) ($6 wallmart), and cut them to fit, and put them inside (on top) of the existing foam, and that helped a lot.

replacing the foam was just too expensive for me to justify...

Sumner, which foam type did you go with? & did you get the dacron wrap?
(also which cushons: interior / cockpit?)

Bill the cushions for the V-Berth (shown above) were the Lux Foam - High Quality, 3 inches thick. We are very happy with them and sleep better on them than at home. I ordered 3 pieces that were of the right width and length and then cut the ends at an angle to fit the sides. I ordered these in widths (fore/aft in the boat) so that the pressure points on our shoulders and hips wouldn't be on the seams that go across the V-Berth and not lengthwise like the stock ones. With the seams like this it is easy to just fold the aft one towards the front (where the bottom arrow is above) to get into the storage under it where the head use to be.

Then If we need to get into the main storage under.........

.................... the orginal V-berth we fold the second one forward (middle arrow in the first picture above) after pushing the bedding forward. If we need to get to the storage area................

............... forward of that where there is still another access hatch we push the bedding all the way forward past the foot of the bed and just lift that forward cushion (top arrow in the first picture above).

On our 18 day Lake Powell trip that we just got back from we had 30 days of food on-board and used that very forward area under the V-berth for the first time. I'm going to put a larger access hatch there like I did aft of there and I'm going to put hinged supports on both of them so you just need to open them up and they will stay up, holding the mattress up also, while you fish around for what you need in the storage area.

In the aft berth we added the cooler and sail storage on one side which meant we couldn't keep the mattress on that side. We ordered a piece of their HD36 Foam - High Quality to fill the gap between the orginal mattress and the coolers. We wanted the lower density there to match the stock mattress next to it. When you lay on them they seem to be about the same. We do like the higher density mattress (Lux) for the V-berth and latter when we order a new mattress for the aft berth we will put Lux there also. At the same time it will probably end up being two pieces with the cut going across the boat and not lengthwise like now. The cut will be where aft storage compartment under the mattress ends and the forward one begins, also to make it easier to get to these storage compartment. We use them for extra bedding mostly.

We have not settled on what we will use for the interior seat cushions and the cockpit cushions yet. She said that all of their closed cell is quite a bit firmer than the Lux, so that might be out. She said that most people use their DryFast Foam for boat cushions......

.......and she is sending us a sample to see how we like it. If you are interested I'll let you know what we decide on that.

You can't belive what a small package they can vacuum this foam into in order to keep shipping costs down. Once unpacked though it goes to the right shape immediately. They are much cheaper and seem to have a larger variety of foam than we can find anywhere near us and just a couple nights saved at a motel will in our case pay for the foam.
