My Mustang PFD inflator is expiring. Apparently I can't get one direct from Mustang. Amazon has reviews that say they received expired or nearly expired re-arm kits. Defender, Hodges, have minimal reviews, Fisheries Supply and Hamilton have no reviews. Where can I reliably get a rearm kit with 5 years still left on the expiration?

I've never had an issue with Defender. They are a high volume dealer, so the stock will turn over quickly. I'd wait until the Spring sale to buy one, more likely to get fresh stock.
Most of these PFD's use the same internal device to inflate the airbag. Open up your PFD to find the make and manufacturer and look for a re-arm kit specific to it
Some Mustangs use a hydrostatic inflater, not the more common and cheaper pill type inflator. Hydrostatic inflaters will only inflate once the trigger mechanism is submerged several feet underwater. This leads to fewer accidental inflations that can occur with the more common pill type of mechanism. The pill type can inflate when ever there is sufficient moisture in the air to dissolve or partially dissolve the pill. It is a bit of a shock to have a PFD suddenly inflate while driving down the highway at 65 mph!

Try Binnacle. They appear to have stock. Check with them on dates.
Last summer I learned WM had over stocked their warehouse with both rearm kits. It looks like this was done at more shops than WM.

Easy plug and play refill. Ordered in February 2024 and recieved a refill that is good until the end of 2027. Sad for the price of a refill. I found replacements at Cabelas with 2027 expiration so I ordered straight from the source to not experience the loss of 2 years.
