I have had my S2 8.0c a little over a yeAr and after some upgrades have decided to take this boat out for what it was intended. A weekender.
I live in the Jacksonville area and my boat is launched at the ramp at NAS Jax.

What are good anchoring areas near the NAS Jax?

Thanks ahead of time

All Depends what you want to do

There is the area to the north of Jacksonville called Exchange Island. There is Julington Creek. South of NAS. Futher South in green Cove Springs is the little cove by the Elks Club. Don't go in to far though, There are pilings and it gets shallow. Straight across the river there is another cove that boats hang out in. the depth is about 5 ft.

Off topic but I am looking to move my 43 ft Beneteau to Mulberry Cove. How far is it from the mouth of the river out to sea? What services are offered at the marina? Thanks. Sorry this has nothing to do with anchoring spots, but I saw you use NAS Jax

The marina has a convinience store. The wet slips were a bit over six dollar per foot. They also have mooring buoys for about ninety dollars a month. They have non ethanol fuel. Pumpout. The slips have electrical and water. Next to the store they have full bathrooms with showers. I keep my S2 on a trailer for fifty dollars a month. And it is very safe being on the base. You should google them or you may be able to search for mwr NAS jax
